Charbel Azzi is Managing Director and Head across Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Africa, Turkey, India, & CIS at S&P Dow Jones Indices (S&P DJI). He joined the company in April 2009, and is based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Charbel has extensive experience in investment management, portfolio construction, strategy and product development, capital raising, and marketing and selling investment products and services across the Middle East and Africa. He works closely with clients to design and deliver indices and strategies that utilize S&P DJI’s expertise in custom index design, Shariah-compliant investing, asset allocation, commodities, equities, and emerging markets.

Prior to joining S&P DJI, Charbel worked at Standard Chartered Bank in Dubai as director of origination for the Middle East and North Africa, working with regional family and private offices, corporates, pension funds, investment and insurance companies, and high net worth clients.

Charbel holds a BBA from the American University in Dubai. He is fluent in English, Arabic, and French.

Deepak Goel is the Chief Financial Officer of BSE Ltd. heading finance, accounting, treasury and taxation functions. He currently serves as member of the Board of Directors of several Group Companies.

Deepak has rich and diverse experience of 20 plus years of working in different functional areas in multiple industry including Financial services, Telecom and Management Consultancy. He has previously worked as CFO & Compliance Officer of Kotak Mahindra Investments ltd and handled varied other roles with Kotak Bank group. He has also worked in other organizations like Edelweiss, Bharti Airtel, GE-SBI Cards JV and AF Ferguson & Co. He has been instrumental in establishing multiple functions and building up teams from the ground up.

Deepak is a qualified Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from University of Delhi.

Gaurang Vyas is the head of AIPL’s IT division and is responsible for developing and delivering in-house solutions for S&P Dow Jones Indices and their end customers.  In this role, he is driving the offshore team towards building new capabilities through thought leadership, innovation, and focused strategic initiatives.

He works closely with Raj Varadarajan, CTO S&P DJI, in driving these initiatives.

Gaurang comes with rich industry experience of over 18 years and has worked in organizations like Trigyn Technologies and ORG systems.  He has vast experience in managing delivery solutions on various technology stacks, specifically on web and mobile platforms. At Trigyn, he was the Delivery Head for Mumbai operations and spearheaded operations to set the foundation for several of the people practices, processes, and systems that helped the organization to scale up to the present level.

Gaurang is an engineer in electronics and a certified PMP professional from PMI.

SVR is a chartered accountant with around 25 years of experience in finance, accounting, auditing, corporate law, and tax law. He started his professional career in 1995 as an audit assistant with Fraser & Ross, Chennai. He then worked in manufacturing companies—Avanti Leathers Ltd. and KCP Ltd.—for about six years. SVR joined the financial services sector in 2002, and he is currently working as Vice President – Finance at S&P Capital IQ (India) Pvt. Ltd.

He is a member of the board of directors for S&P Capital IQ (India) Pvt. Ltd., Standard & Poor’s South Asia Services Pvt. Ltd., and Asia Index Pvt. Ltd. He is also a designated partner in Ness Software Engineering Services India LLP. 

Sushri Kamala K is the Chief Regulatory Officer (Compliance Officer under the Securities Contracts (Regulation) (Stock Exchanges and Clearing Corporations) Regulations, 2018) heading the Regulatory functions of the Exchange including Membership and Listing Compliance, Surveillance and Investigation, Inspection and Enforcement.

At BSE Sushri Kamala was earlier heading the Enterprise Risk Management across various vectors of risk as Chief Risk officer. She has rich and diverse experience of more than 33 years in the areas of Finance. She has been long associated with financial markets in general and MII space in particular performing various roles. She has worked in multiple organisations like PFC, IIM-B, BgSE, BgSE Financials, Invest smart, NSE, Edelweiss Group. She has also been part of various reforms in capital market, actively participating in policy making through various Committees constituted by Regulators and stock Exchanges.

Ved Malla is Associate Director, Client Coverage at S&P Dow Jones Indices. He is responsible for client relationships and Sales for South Asia. Ved’s objective is to expand business in the region. In addition, Ved is responsible for the Corporate Affairs of Asia Index Pvt. Ltd. (JV between S&P Dow Jones & BSE Limited). Ved is also a member of the Board of Directors of Asia Index Pvt. Ltd.

Ved has extensive experience in the financial services industry. Prior to joining S&P BSE Indices, Ved worked with the two leading Indian stock exchanges (NSE and BSE), playing an integral role in the growth of their index and market data business. Previously, Ved has also been associated with Birla Sunlife Mutual Fund, where he was part of the compliance department.

Ved has an MBA in Marketing from the Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS), Mumbai. Ved also received his Company Secretary certificate from the Institute of Company Secretaries of India.
